La educación sentimental is a first-person description of the director Jorge’s transition from young man into (an increasingly deferred) adulthood. A traumatic transition, where the innocence of early life is essentially abandoned after sentimental break-ups, job and artistic disappointments and where the weight of the nuclear family is understood as a source of both support as well as repression.
He has a degree and PhD in Audiovisual Communications from the Complutense University of Madrid and a diploma in the specialty of Film Directing from the ECAM. In the last decade, he has directed several short films which have been selected and awarded at several national and international festivals, including Los intrusos, Ártico extremo and Cines Luna, as well as numerous music videos and commercials. He has worked as an assistant director on films by Javier Rebollo, Álvaro Fernández Armero and Federico Veiroj. He is currently teaching mis-en-scene, editing and image theory at the Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid. Since 2015, he has been preparing his first documentary feature, called La educación sentimental.
